What should I do if CarPlay or Android Auto stops working after an update?

Try the following steps in order:

  1. Restart the phone and the vehicle's infotainment system.
  2. Check that Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, mobile data, Siri, and required permissions are enabled.
  3. Check the USB cable and try another compatible USB port if using a wired connection.
  4. Remove the saved vehicle or adapter from the phone and pair it again.
  5. Update the phone operating system, Google Play services, relevant apps, and vehicle software.
  6. If using a third-party adapter or smart screen, check for a firmware update from the manufacturer.
  7. Reset the adapter or smart screen and reconnect it if the problem continues.
  8. Contact the vehicle or device manufacturer if the issue began after a major system update.

Do not disconnect power or install firmware while an update is in progress.
