Will installing a portable display affect the vehicle's original functions or warranty?

A portable display normally operates independently from the vehicle's original infotainment and control systems. When installed correctly, it should not affect existing vehicle functions.
Vehicle functions
Most portable displays receive power through a USB port, 12 V accessory socket, or a separate wiring kit. Because they do not normally replace or modify the original infotainment system, the vehicle's existing functions generally remain unchanged.
Vehicle warranty
A plug-and-play installation usually does not require changes to the original wiring. However, warranty coverage depends on the vehicle manufacturer, dealer, installation method, and local regulations.
If the display is connected to the fuse box or another vehicle circuit:
- Use a compatible wiring kit with a correctly rated fuse.
- Do not cut or permanently modify the original wiring.
- Professional installation is recommended.
- Check the vehicle's warranty terms before installation.
Damage caused by incorrect installation, unsuitable wiring, or an incompatible power supply may not be covered by the vehicle or device warranty.
